Kay Swingmaster

Originally missing correct bridge. Located and installed correct original replacement.

Replaced incorrect tuners with new set of correct Grover Sta-Tite tuners.

Replaced cracked pickup bezels and rusty screws. Pickups were misaligned.

Some Kays fared better than others during the assembly process. On this guitar, the alignment of the pickups was a little off, and some of the mounting screws had no wood to grab. I attempted to fix these issues as well as I could buy filling some of the original holes and drilling new.

I purchased a set of replacement pickup bezels, which are not an exact match for the originals, but definitely preferable since they are in much better shape. The main difference being that the top edges of the originals are rounded. These replacements have a sharp edge. Maybe one day I will see if I can modify them to more closely resemble the originals.

I am in the process of making a replacement pickguard. The original one is slowly turning into dust. I was able to use the guard from my Jazz II as a reference.
